St. Mary Parish has been a central part of my family for many years. There is a depth of love, service and history in this parish that resonates throughout the community, and I am proud to be a small part of that.
My husband, Ryan, and I became part of the St. Mary School family in 2004 after enrolling my oldest daughter, Liz, in Kindergarten. Since then, all three of my children have attended St. Mary School. In 2012, I began teaching Content Mastery part-time while finishing my teaching degree. I loved the challenge of working with students of differing age groups to overcome their struggles in math and reading, but I longed for a full-time position.
I earned a Bachelor’s in Education with an emphasis on 4th-8th grade English Language Arts and Reading from TWU in May of 2014. In June, I began my career as the Language Arts teacher for 6th through 8th grades at St. Mary.
I hope to motivate students to thrive inside the classroom so that they can flourish outside of it. Especially in the middle grades, students are discovering who they are and where they belong. I want to encourage them to work hard, ask questions, and learn from one another so that they become well-rounded, active members of their community.
