Library and Cafeteria

I moved to Texas after college to work for Texas Instruments. I met my future husband, Bob, there. We have been blessed with two wonderful boys, and have welcomed a fantastic daughter-in-law and three grandkids!
My husband and I found St. Mary School when our oldest son was getting ready for Kindergarten in 1993. We loved the welcoming family atmosphere and enrolled him. Our younger son started at St. Mary's in 1997, the same year I started working at St. Mary's in the cafeteria. Both boys are graduates of St. Mary, went on to Sanger High School, and then UNT. Now, our two granddaughters attend St. Mary.
During my years here there have been many changes, but one constant: We Are Family! I have been blessed to work with such wonderful teachers and staff. The students are a constant joy to know!
My purpose in working in the cafeteria (I love to cook) and library (I love to read) is to feed the students—twice: first, feed the body by serving a tasty, healthy lunch to keep the students happy and focused on learning and second, feed the mind with new books to help our students get interested and keep them reading!
“There is no such thing as a kid who hates reading. There are kids who love reading and kids who are reading the wrong books.” James Patterson (author of the Middle School and I Funny children’s book series and many more.)
