Parents of 4th and 5th Graders,
We are providing lessons that will encompass online learning and book/paper learning. The goals for homebound instruction are to provide some continuity of instruction, and to facilitate the student's return to a regular school setting as quickly as possible.
When Homebound Learning begins, a proper setting for learning is to be provided:
-Instruction should be held in a clean, smoke-free, well-lighted room that is free from distractions.
-Keep to a schedule. Children strive in a consistent, predictable environment where they understand the expectations.
-A responsible adult must be present in the home, but not in the room.
-Parents should not expect their children to sit for hours without breaks. An example of a reasonable expectation for a 4th and 5th grader would be 45-60 minutes of working, and a 15 minute break.

This is going to be a learning curve for all of us. I will keep in close contact with you so that we can keep the homebound learning goals at the forefront of our minds. We are in this together. Please contact me with any questions, concerns, and feedback about your child and/or the lessons we have provided.
Thank you,
Mrs. Snider and Mrs. Dougherty
